Celestine Tan is the Vice President of Global Marketing for Software. In her role, she is responsible for all aspects of marketing for Sun's Software line of business, including strategy development, go-to-market plans and programs, branding, market research and communications. Under Celestine's leadership, the Software marketing team worldwide aligns with the business goals of the Software sales unit and the product engineering group to drive the adoption of Sun's Software technologies, and generate leads and opportunities to build business pipelines. Celestine has more than 20 years of experience in the information technology industry. She joined Sun in 1993 and over the last 16 years, Celestine has held senior positions in Marketing and Communications. In 2003, Celestine was promoted to Director of Marketing for the Asia South and India region. In 2005, Celestine received the coveted Marketing Leadership Award and was a graduate of the Sun Leadership Institute. Prior to her current appointment, Celestine was the Vice President of Marketing for the Asia Pacific region. Based in Singapore, Celestine managed the region's marketing organisation which covered Australia and New Zealand, Asia South, Greater China, India, Japan and Korea. Prior to joining Sun Microsystems, Celestine was the head of corporate communications for Asia Pacific at Compaq. Celestine holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from the De La Salle University in the Philippines.
