Chong Soon Cheong is the Director of Marketing for the Asia South region. In this capacity, he is responsible for all marketing efforts across Asia South. These include demand generation activities for Sun’s four Practices (Systems, Storage, Software and Services), public relations, advertising, internal and external communications, eMarketing initiatives as well as Marketing Operations and Intelligence.

Chong Soon Cheong has 22 years of experience in various fields within the IT industry including engineering research and development, technical support for sales and business development, product management, program marketing and channel management.

Since joining Sun in 2002 as Senior Manager, Product Management, Hardware; Soon Cheong has risen through the ranks. His most recent role was that of Director, Product Management, Asia South. Prior to joining Sun, Soon Cheong was with Red Hat Asia South for two years where he was amongst the pioneers in establishing Red Hat’s Asia South business. He has also held positions in other IT companies including Compaq and Digital Equipment.

Soon Cheong has an MBA in International Business from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and a Bachelor of Engineering from National University of Singapore.
