As managing director for Sun Microsystems Malaysia, CP Loo is responsible for overseeing operations, driving business opportunities in the country, delivering revenue growth and wining greater market share for Sun Microsystems Malaysia. CP has over 25 years of sales, leadership and management experience in the IT industry. CP joined Sun Microsystems Malaysia in 1997 as channel manager where he managed the Enterprise Distributors and promoted Sun solutions to customers and second tier resellers. In 2000, CP’s dedication paid off when he was promoted to country head of Sun’s software team then known as iPlanet Malaysia. His role was expanded to encompass Thailand and the Philippines the following year. CP continued to rise through the ranks and was made channel director in 2004, overseeing Partners’ Sales and the total partner landscape in Malaysia. He took on the additional portfolio as team lead for the mid-market sector before he became country sales director for Sun Microsystems Malaysia. Under CP’s leadership, Sun Microsystems Malaysia achieved record sales performance. Before joining Sun, CP was with SCS Computer Systems Sdn Bhd (a subsidiary of Singapore Computer Systems) for 10 years. He held many management positions including business development director, sales director of Ayala Systems Technology Inc, Philippines (a joint venture company between Ayala Corp and SCS) and general manager of SCS Brunei which he set up. CP holds a BSC in Computer Science from University of Arkansas, USA.
