Wong Heng Chew is the regional director of Services Practice, he is responsible for driving Managed Services, Professional Services, Support Services and Learning Services for the Asia South region. In his 21 years' career in the IT industry, he has held several key management positions. Heng Chew joined Sun as the Managing Director of Singapore and has been integral to growth in both revenue and mindshare among stakeholders within the Singapore IT community. Prior to joining Sun, Heng Chew was the Managing Director of Compaq Computer in Singapore, which is a subsidiary of Compaq Computer Corporation. In this position, Heng Chew was responsible for the Country organization and had the herculean task of integrating the Compaq, Digital and Tandem sales organization. Before joining Compaq, Heng Chew has held several key management positions at Motorola and Hewlett Packard. Heng Chew is a member of the Information & Communications Technology Advisory Committee by the Ngee Ann Polytechnic Council and has sat in various committees including Managed Computing Competency Centre (MC3) SITF Council and the Advisory Committee of the Network Technology Research Centre (NTRC), Nanyang Technological University. A mechanical Engineer by training, Heng Chew began his career in Hewlett Packard as a Production Engineer and thereafter scaled to a sales position in which he excelled by constantly exceeding his sales quotas. He had received several Sales awards acknowledging his skills. Heng Chew assumed the title of Country Sales Manager for Singapore before he left Hewlett Packard. Heng Chew holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore. |
